Is Baton Rouge Cooking Oil Recycling locally owned and operated?
Absolutely.
Baton Rouge Cooking Oil Recycling is 100% locally owned and employee operated, and serving the greater Baton Rouge, LA area.
How long have we been in operation?
We began servicing used cooking oil containment and collection in the greater New Orleans area in 2015, and have been an LDEQ certified recycling and transfer facility since 2017.
Our Baton Rouge expansion began in 2019.
Is Used Cooking Oil Recycling FREE?
Yes -- Not only is used cooking oil containment, collection, and recycling services completely free, in many cases we pay our customers for used cooking oil OR directly rebate the cost of a grease trap cleaning service via our sister company Baton Rouge Grease Trap Cleaning.
What kind of oil do we recycle?
At Baton Rouge Cooking Oil Recycling we ONLY recycle used cooking oil (UCO) such as soybean oil, peanut oil, and/or cottonseed oil. We DO NOT recycle any petroleum or hydrocarbon based oils such as waste motor oil.
What size and type of containers do we use?
Due to ease of use, we primarily source polymer type injection molded 125 gallon bulk used cooking oil containers. We find these units are easy to move and stay cleaner for longer. However, we do have access to many different types and sizes of containers that range in size from 30 gallon drums up to 320 gallon box-type bulk metal containers.
Can we dispose of HOT used cooking oil or grease in the containers?
Some containers are rated for heat, whereas others are not. Although most of our bulk UCO containers are rated for hot oil, not all containers are created equally. Many containers are rated for only warm used cooking oil, such as smaller poly-type drums. Whereas other containers, such as bulk box-type metal units, are rated for 300-degrees plus waste oil.
Are collection intervals scheduled or do we need to call for a pick up?
We prefer to place customers on a scheduled collection interval. We take pride in offering excellent service and prefer to place customers on a collection frequency that ensures ample room to dispose of used cooking oil.
However, it's totally ok if you prefer to call us for a pick up when full.
Can we schedule an EMERGENCY collection of our used cooking oil?
Emergency pick up? No such thing.
If you happen to fill your container prior to a scheduled collection and need a quick pick up, we would prefer you reach out directly via phone, sms text, or email. Contact us directly at (225) 228-1363 . You can also send us an email at mike@batonrougecookingoilrecycling.com.
What happens if we have a spill or our container is leaking?
Oopsies! A spill and/or leaking container requires immediate attention. If this occurs, call us immediately and we will help you clean up the mess.
How do we receive payment for used cooking oil collected?
Getting paid is easy. For single location restaurants and commercial food establishments we generally write you a check at the time of a collection. For multi-location accounts we generally mail out checks monthly.
